After victories for Brazilian pairs Renato Lima de Carvalho/Rafael Mendonca de Quiero and Duda Lisboa/Victoria Lopes in Larnaka, Cyprus in 2016, a new set of world champions will be decided on the sands of Nanjing from July 10 to 15.

The double-gender championships will be the 15th edition of a competition which was first held in Greece in 2002. Held annually until 2014, it has since been organised every two years and represents a wonderful opportunity for young players to acquire experience at an international level. The six-day event will feature qualification and main draw tournaments to decide the eventual winners.

Nanjing will host a second event in 2018 when the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour stops in the city for a 2-star women-only event from June 14-17. It was also the venue for the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Finals in 2017 when Brazil claimed gold, Italy won silver and Serbia finished with bronze.
