Nanjing, China, November 11, 2017 – A popular venue for volleyball and beach volleyball events, Nanjing will welcome the world’s top teams to the FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships in 2018.

2016 men's gold medallists Renato Lima de Carvalho/Rafael Mendonca de QuieroThe double-gender championships will be the 15th edition of a competition which was first held in Greece in 2002. Held annually until 2014, it has since been organised every two years and represents a wonderful opportunity for young players to acquire experience at an international level. The six-day event will feature qualification and main draw tournaments to decide the eventual winners.
Brazilians Duda Lisboa and Victoria Lopes claimed gold in Larnaka in 2016Nanjing will host a second event in 2018 when the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour stops in the city for a 2-star women-only event from June 14-17. It was also the venue for the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Finals in 2017 when Brazil claimed gold, Italy won silver and Serbia finished with bronze.
