U19 World Championships to showcase beach volleyball’s bright new talents

 
Nanjing, China, July 9, 2018 – The world’s top teams in the U19 age group are ready to compete in the 15th edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships from July 10 to 15.



After staging the 2-star women-only FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour last June 14-17, Nanjing once again will be the centre of beach volleyball.

Liu Jinqiu and Tang Xinyu lead the Chinese men’s contingent that will face tough contenders like Brazil’s Gabriel Zuliani/Gabriel De Abreu Lima Pisco, Switzerland’s Nathan Broch/Timon Gysin, France’s Vivien Tournier/Paul Nicole and Argentina’s Mauro Zelayeta/Bautista Amieva.

Chinese duo Cao Shuting/Zen Jinjin lead the women’s main draw entries, together with Brazil’s Thamela Coradello Galil/Anne Karolayne Figueredo Gois, the Netherlands’ Raisa Schoon/Emi van Driel, the United States’ Devon Newberry/Lindsey Sparks and the Czech Republic’s Karin Zolnercikova/Sarlota Svobodova.



Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, Congo, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Monaco, Morocco, Mozambique, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Vanuatu and hosts China comprise the field of men’s teams.

Teams from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, China, Congo, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Morocco, Mozambique, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and Vanuatu make the tough field in the women’s competition.


The six-day event will feature qualification and main draw tournaments to decide who will succeed Larnaka 2016 men’s winners Brazil’s Renato Lima de Carvalho/Rafael Mendonca de Quiero and women’s titlists Duda Lisboa/Victoria Lopes in the 15th edition of the U19 World Championships.
